Obituary of Thomas D Steiger

Memorial services for Thomas D. Steiger, age 72, of Wedowee, Alabama, will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at 1:00 PM CST from the First United Methodist Church of Wedowee with Rev. Gary Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-1:00 PM CST on Wednesday. Mr. Steiger passed away Friday, June 13, 2014, at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Harkness Steiger of Wedowee; one daughter, Cathie Lynne Steiger of Atlanta, GA; one son, Ronald Allen Steiger of Smyrna, GA; two grandchildren, Ana Nicole Steiger and Brandon Thomas Steiger; and one brother, David Steiger of Jersey Shore, PA. A Pennsylvania native, Mr. Steiger was born on July 6, 1941, the son of Dorcey and Mildred Bower Steiger. He was Methodist by faith and was retired from his job in customer service for United Airlines. Mr. Steiger was preceded in death by his parents. The family is accepting flowers or, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clay County Hospice or the First United Methodist Church of Wedowee Soup Kitchen.
