Obituary Notice
Funeral services for Emmett M. Almon age 85 of Lanett will be held Wednesday February 6, 2013 at 3:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donald Spradlin and Rev. John Samino officiating. Burial will follow at the Napoleon Church of Christ Cemetery.
Mr. Almon passed away Sunday February 3, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Almon is survived by his wife Mavis Bailey Almon of Lanett; four daughters Shelia Bryant, Regina Fulghum and Janet Almon all of Lanett and Beverly Dutton of Wedowee; one son Emmett (Buddy) Almon Jr. of LaGrange, Ga; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Shane Bryant, Jason Dutton, Travis Dutton, Matthew Almon, Dillon Almon, Lee Fulghum and Clay Fulghum.
Mr. Almon was born November 3, 1927 the son of Roy and Claudia Calhoun Almon. He was a retired supervisor at West Point Pepperell and a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home- Wedowee on Tuesday February 5, 2013 from 5 till 8 PM.
