Obituary Notice
Funeral services for Janet Joan Nelson age 76 of Heflin will be held Tuesday March 12, 2013 at 12:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Brian Moore officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Anniston at 2:00 PM.
Mrs. Nelson passed away Wednesday March 6, 2013 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Mrs. Nelson is survived by one daughter Patricia Sunich of Mountian Home, Arkansas; two sons Bobby Egelston of Heflin and Michael Nelson of Illinois; one step daughter Beth Nelson of Illinois; one sister Sheila Loomis of Heflin; one brother Tim Porteous of Heflin; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Nelson was born November 18, 1936 the daughter of Dean and Josephine Murray Porteous. She retired from Wellborn Cabinets. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Nelson and two brothers Dean and John Porteous.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home - Wedowee on March 11, 2013 from 5 till 7 PM.
