Obituary of Marjorie Woodard Franklin

Obituary Notice Funeral services for Marjorie Woodard Franklin age 83 of Wedowee will be held Friday March 29, 2013 at 2:00 PM from Iduma Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. David Waldrop and Rev. Larry Conger officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Franklin passed away Tuesday March 26, 2013 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Franklin is survived by one daughter Patti Ruth Franklin of Wedowee; one son Douglas Joe (Sherrye) Franklin of Wedowee; one brother Tommy Woodard of LaGrange, Ga; one daughter-in-law Donna Franklin; Two special neices Tina Clifton and Myra Gaskins; Five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Franklin, Kerry Whaley, Nelson McCain, Caleb Franklin, Brandon Yarbrough and David Franklin. Mrs. Franklin was born November 14, 1929 the daughter of Jabe and Lillian Knott Woodard. She was a self- employed homemaker and a member of Iduma Congregational Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willis C. Franklin, one son Rev. Ray Franklin and a sister Katherine Olene Hester. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home- Wedowee on Thursday March 28, 2013 from 5 till 8 PM. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
