Obituary of Delmas Owens Easterwood

Funeral services for Delmas Owens Easterwood, age 98, of Wedowee will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013, at 2:00 pm from Malone Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Woodard officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery at Malone with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 5th. Mrs. Easterwood will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning at 1:00 pm on Thursday. Mrs. Easterwood died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Hollis House in LaGrange, Georgia. Survivors include one daughter, JoAnn Bishop of Wedowee; one son, Larry D. Easterwood of Anniston; five grandchildren, Bronwyn Rampy, Brandee Godwin, Larry Easterwood Jr., Jerry Scott Easterwood and Rachel Easterwood; eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Vernon Lashley, George T. Traylor, Lamar Evans, Frank Bishop, Jerry Hall and Tommy Bishop. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Easterwood was born May 26, 1915, daughter of Lemual Berchem and Dora Malone Owens. She was a homemaker and a member of Malone Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Easterwood; one sister, Delphyn Nix; one brother, John B. Owens.
