Funeral services for Arthur Marble, age 86, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 1:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Nation officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Cemetery in Wedowee. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from11:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Friday, December 6, 2013. Mr. Marble passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at his residence. Survivors include: his wife, Canda Marable of Wedowee; four daughters, Patricia M. Hutchins of Alex City, Denise Cooley of Jacksonville, Lillie Marable of Wedowee, and Elizabeth Marable of Wedowee; five sons, Jessie Marable, Henry (wife, Melinda) Nelson, Franklin (wife, Maina) Marable, Robert Nelson, and Arthur Darrel Marable, all of Wedowee; 38 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Oscar (wife, Patty) Marble, his twin brother, of Wedowee, James (wife, Deborah) Marable of Wedowee, Willie (wife, Linda) Marable of Wedowee, and Kelvin (wife, Wanda) Thorne of Columbus, GA. Pallbearers will be Mr. Marble's grandsons. A Randolph County native, Mr. Marble was born on January 5, 1927, the son of Roosevelt and Henreitta Nelson Marble. He was a member of Weathers Heights Church of Christ and had been employed with Dixie Construction Company. Mr. Marble was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Charlie Marable and Joe Lewis; two daughters, Mary June Knight and Regina Marable; four sisters, Minnie Marable, Pearl Marable, Annie Mae Marable, and Velma Marable; and one brother, John Otis Marable.
