Funeral services for Eleanor M. Skidmore, age 89, of Woodland will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 11:00 AM from Emanuel Episcopal Church in Great River, New York. Burial will follow at Emanuel Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee, AL/Chapey & Sons Funeral Home of New York in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Skidmore passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia.
Survivors include: two sons, William E. (wife, Verena) Skidmore of New Jersey and Doug (wife, Pam) Skidmore of Woodland, AL; four grandsons, William E. Skidmore, Clint Orr, Greg Green, and Brad Green; and a host of nieces and nephews including Celia Weldon and Kathleen Weldon.
A Long Island, New York native, Mrs. Skidmore was born on October 7, 1924, the daughter of Adam and Anna Becker Meisinger. She was Episcopal by faith and was a secretary for Long Island Lighting Company. Mrs. Skidmore was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley Skidmore; and three brothers.
