Funeral services for Edith Johnson, age 66, of Wedowee will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 1:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, June 19, 2014.
Ms. Johnson passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Survivors include: three daughters, Denise Hudson, Shinna Morgan, and Ebony Johnson Parham, all of Carrollton, GA; one son, Douglas Andrews of Wedowee; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Clyde Marable of LaGrange, Ga; and one brother, Larry Andrews of Franklin, Ga.
A Wedowee native, Ms. Johnson was born on October 30, 1949, the daughter of Oliver and Lula Mae Lancaster Andrews. She was a member of Union Chapel Methodist Church and was a cook at Lakeside Grill & Marina. Ms. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and three brothers.
