Obituary of Nadine Stillwell Ward

Funeral services for Nadine Stillwell Ward, age 86, of Graham will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014, at 10:00 AM from Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Morris and Rev. Tim Holt officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, June 26, 2014. Mrs. Ward passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Memory Lane Assisted Living in Bowdon, Georgia. Survivors include: three daughters, Barbara Cummings of Bowdon, GA, Deborah Fields and Paula Ward Traylor, both of Woodland; one son, Bobby Ward of Carrollton, GA; a host of nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Matt Ward, Adam Ward, Michael Cummings, Bill Montfort, and Gareth Evans. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Ward was born on May 25, 1928, the daughter of Willie and Iness Butler Stillwell. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Woodrow Ward; three sisters, Bernice Taft, Mattie Lou Daniel, and Mary Lovvorn; and one brother, R.C. Stillwell. The family is accepting flowers or, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Agape Hospice.
