Obituary of Catherine Cofield Craft

Funeral services for Catherine Cofield Craft, age 75, of Newell will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Union Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Halsey officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 on Saturday, July 19, 2014. Mrs. Craft will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Sunday. Mrs. Craft passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Survivors include her husband, Richard Craft of Newell; two daughters, Tammy (husband, Steve) Spratlin of Roanoke and Teena (husband, Curt) Stinespring of Flowery Branch, GA; two grandchildren, Chelsea Spratlin and Leah Stinespring; two sisters, Carrie (husband, Jack) Simpson and Stella (husband, Billy) Edwards, both of Newell; and one brother, Bobby (wife, Elaine) Cofield of Newell. Pallbearers will be Jason Simpson, Mike Cofield, Phillip Edwards, Greg Edwards, Logan Edwards, and Cliff Langley. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Craft was born on January 2, 1939, the daughter of Ted and Lottie Crews Cofield. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and was a retired seamstress with Bremen-Bowdon Investment, Co. Mrs. Craft was preceded in death by her parents.
