Obituary of Billy Davis Herren

Funeral services for Billy Davis Herren, age 74, of Newell will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at 12:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Matt Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony Congregational Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-8:00 PM on Friday, October 31, 2014. Mr. Herren passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014, at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Betty Sue McLeod Herren of Newell; two sons, Grover Davis Herren and Billy Mack Herren, both of Newell; one daughter, Suzy Head of Carrollton; two grandchildren; one sister, Joann Blanks of Lineville; and one brother, Paul Herren of Newell. Pallbearers will be the Randolph County Sheriff's Department. A Randolph County native, Mr. Herren was born on August 10, 1940, the son of Grover Washington and Elsie Leigh Crawford Herren. He was a member of Harmony Congregational Methodist Church and was the owner of Herren's Body Shop. Mr. Herren was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Laurie Herren.
