Obituary of Clinton Kelsey Fincher

Funeral services for Clinton Kelsey Fincher, age 90, will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clayton Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Mr. Fincher passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Clay County Nursing Home. Survivors include: two daughters, Martha Weber (husband, Stan) and Tammie Duffie (husband, Mark), both of Wedowee; one son, Charles Fincher (wife, Brenda) of Wedowee; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be J.R. Fincher, H.E. Daniel, Johnny Sizemore, Billy Purdue, Randy Fincher, and Rudon Taylor. A Woodland native, Mr. Fincher was born on June 5, 1924, the son of Thomas Clinton and Bessie Morrow Fincher. He was a member of Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Church and a retired welder and member of Local Union 52 out of Montgomery, Alabama. He was also a World War II veteran where he served in the United States Navy. Mr. Fincher was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Virginia Wilson Fincher, Nancy Noble Fincher and Linnie Dean Marlow Fincher; three children, infant twins Cathy and Carol and infant daughter Lisa Michelle; one sister; one brother; and one grandson.
