Obituary of Charlie Thomas Madden

Funeral services for Charlie Thomas “C.T.” Madden, age 86, of Woodland will be held on Monday, January 4, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Highway Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Vernon Willis and Rev. Larry McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in the Highway Memorial Gardens with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, January 3, 2015. Mr. Madden will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Monday.
Mr. Madden passed away Friday, January 1, 2016, at his residence.
Survivors include: one brother, Earnest Madden (wife, Ramona) of Woodland; caregivers, Ted and Louise Noles and family; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Colby Spears, Ricky Taylor, Levi Noles, Brandon Taylor, Ernie Madden, and Joey Hester. Honorary pallbearers will be Durant Noles, Scott Noles, Kevin Spears, and Mike Madden.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Madden was born on June 18, 1929, the son of Lloyd G. and Mattie Spears Madden. He was a member of Highway Congregational Methodist Church and worked as a heat setter for Candlewick Yarns. Mr. Madden was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lela B. Madden; three sisters, Evie Lou Madden, Dean Holloway, and Allie Ruth Brown; and one brother, Cecil Madden.
Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to LifeChoice Hospice.
