Obituary of Betty Joyce Eastwood

Funeral services for Betty Joyce Eastwood, age 80, of Wadley will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joey Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, February 11, 2016. Mrs. Eastwood passed away Monday, February 8, 2016, at Wedowee Hospital. Survivors include: two daughters, Vanessa Pitts and Marchell Wheeles (husband, Bennett), both of Wadley; one son, Brett Eastwood (wife, Cindy) of Anniston; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Patty Akins of Heflin. Pallbearers will be Wayne Roberts, Kenneth Conn, Logan Eastwood, Wesley Johnson, Brandon Knight, Colby Ussery, B.J. Conn, and Aaron Ford. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Eastwood was born on September 14, 1935, the daughter of Eli Benton and Clara Daughtery Teague. She was Baptist by faith and worked at Wedowee Hospital. Mrs. Eastwood was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marshall Eastwood, Jr.; one sister, Jetty Foreman; one brother, Lyman Teague; and four great-grandchildren.
