Funeral services for Janice R. Barker, age 75, of Woodland will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Matt Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Wedowee City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.
Mrs. Barker passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Clay County Hospital.
Survivors include: three stepsons, Jerry Barker of Alaska, David Barker of Border, TX, and Terry Barker of Carrollton, GA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Steven Rice of Lineville, Richard Rice of Lineville and Emmett Rice of Washington.
A Clay County native, Mrs. Barker was born on March 11, 1940, the daughter of Charlie and Ida May Rice. She was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress. Mrs. Barker was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Charlie Willingham; and her second husband, Jerrell Barker.
