Obituary of Elender Drummond Green

Funeral services for Elender Drummond Green, age 81, of Woodland will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016, at 11:00 AM from Providence Baptist Church with Rev. David Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, March 6, 2016. Mrs. Green will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Monday. Mrs. Green passed away Saturday, March 05, 2016, at her residence. Survivors include: one daughter, Marie Gay (Phillip) of Woodland; two sons, Alan Green (Shawn) of Anniston and James Green (Belinda) of Woodland; six grandchildren, Lane and Justin Gay, Garret and Sarah Green, and Faith Ussery and Owen Henderson; one sister, Patricia Ann Trainer of Tyrone, GA; and caregivers, Teresa Harrington, Angelica Vasquez, and Sharon Yarbrough. Pallbearers will be Garret Green, Owen Henderson, Lane Gay, Justin Gay, Todd Trainer, and Chad Wood. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Green was born on May 6, 1934, the daughter of Oren Omar and Velma Stephens Drummond. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church and was co-owner of Green’s Grocery with her late husband Alfred. Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George Alfred Green.
