Funeral services for Eunice Catherine Hester Stewart, age 87, of Woodland, will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Brad Prince and Bro. Ricky Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Church of Christ Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 27, 2016.
Mrs. Stewart passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at her home.
Survivors include three daughters, Lynda Ann Stewart, Marilyn Messer (husband, Wayne), and Elaine S. Parmer (husband, Mark), all of Woodland; two sons, James Thomas Stewart (wife, Wendy) and Marlon Luke Stewart, both of Woodland; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and three sisters, Clara Rollins of Woodland, Vivian Burdette of LaGrange, GA, and Fay Bennett of Wadley.
Pallbearers will be Tim Bennett, Benny Burdette, Keith Stewart, Ted Brown, Todd Parrish, and Mike Fields.
Honorary pallbearers will be Arnold Rollins, Cecil Brown, and Gerald Scott.
A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Stewart was born on October 16, 1928, the daughter of Benjamin Allen and Lula Jane Duke Hester. She was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd Thomas Stewart; four brothers; and one sister.
