Sidney Simmons, age 60, of Wedowee passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017, at his residence.
Survivors include: one daughter, Christy Taylor of Kansas; one son, Chris Simmons of Wedowee; his mother, Opal Simmons of Wedowee; two sisters, Dot Strickland of Carrollton and Faye Loveless of Wedowee; and two brothers, Billy Simmons of Bowdon and Jackie Simmons of Wedowee.
A Macon, Georgia native, Mr. Simmons was born on May 23, 1956, the son of A. D. and Opal Smith Simmons. He was Baptist by faith and worked as a truck driver. Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Virginia Phillips.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at 2:00 PM from Faith Missionary Baptist Church at 595 Stoney Point Road, Bowdon, GA 30108.
