Obituary of Glenda Mae Bowen

Funeral services for Glenda Mae Bowen, age 72, of Woodland will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Freddie Whitley officiating. Burial will follow at Jordan Chapel Congregational Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 PM on Saturday, March 11 before services begin. Mrs. Bowen passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at her residence. Survivors include: one daughter, Helen Norred of Newell; four sons, Devone Prestridge, Troy Glenn Prestridge, David Prestridge, and Robert Pauley, all of Woodland; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joan Traylor of Douglasville, GA, Joyce Smith and Faye Jackson, both of Heflin; and one brother, Joe Gibson of Jacksonville. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Bowen was born on March 24, 1944, the daughter of Glenn Troy and Dorothy Mae Gibson. She was Baptist by faith and was a homemaker. Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Andrew Thomas Pauley.
