Obituary of Michael Q. Hughes

Michael Q. Hughes Born September 17, 1942 in Washington D.C., son of the late Alfred Q. and Cleo Meade Hughes of Raceland Ky. Mike passed on March 25th 2017 of congestive heart failure, at West George Medical Center, Lagrange Ga. Mike attended schools in Catlettsburg Ky, where he was affectionately called by his nick name Daffy. Mike was a self taught mechanic with the exceptional ability to repair vehicles that others could not repair. He was also a self taught musician, and played lead guitar in several bands. Mike owned and operated several businesses and owned a farm in Bowdon Georgia, from which he ran Hughes long distant trucking until health issues made him retire from driving. Mike was an avid motorcyclist his entire life. Mike is survived by son Eric Hughes of Waleska Ga., and daughter Christy Vercrouse of Ohio, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Brothers Kenny, Holly, Jeffrey Hughes of Waleska Ga. Funeral services will be Held at Benefield Funeral Home, Wedowee Al. 36278, Friday March 31, from 10am-2pm
