Obituary of Anne S Kirby

Funeral services for Anne S. Kirby, age 76, of Woodland will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017, at 2:00 PM from Highway Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Stoney Halsey officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, June 22, 2017.  Mrs. Kirby will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Friday.

Mrs. Kirby passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at her residence.

Survivors include: two daughters, Cindy Smith of Ranburne and Paula Kirby of Roanoke; one son, Richard Kirby of Carrollton, GA; two grandchildren; and one brother, Johnny Shirey of Rock Mills.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Kirby was born on August 17, 1940, the daughter of Paul and Mattie Lou Prather Shirey.  She was Baptist by faith and worked for the Randolph County Learning Center.  Mrs. Kirby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Blaine Kirby; one son, Jonathan Kirby; and one brother, Edward Shirey.
