Obituary of Eris Holmes Butler

Funeral services for Eris Holmes Butler, age 96, of Newell will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Jerald Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow at Pine Hill Church of Christ Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, August 19 before services begin.

Mrs. Butler passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Lineville Health and Rehab Center.

Survivors include: one sister-in-law, Dean Lovvorn of Newell and several nieces and nephews.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Butler was born on March 7, 1921, the daughter of Thomas Monroe and Susie Mae Ragsdale Lovvorn.  She was a member of Pine Hill Church of Christ and worked as a poultry farmer.  Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Wheeler Holmes, veteran of World War II; second husband, Troy Butler; six sisters, Geneva Lovvorn, Carolyn Bailey, Maude Blanton, Brydie Wilson, Gladys Traylor and Dorthy Johnson; and five brothers, Ed, Columbus, Tom, Watson, and Wiley Lovvorn.
