Obituary of Mary Ellen Williams

Funeral services for Mary Ellen Williams, ag 53, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel.  Burial will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, September 22, 2017.

Mrs. Williams passed away Friday, September 15, 2017, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

Survivors include: two daughters, Jada Green and Tahia Hooks, both of Wedowee; two sons, Mario Knight and Thomas Knight, Jr., both of Wedowee; 12 grandchildren; her mother, Nellie Ruth Daniel of Wedowee; one sister, Patsy Choppala of Temple, GA; and one brother, Johnny Daniel of Anniston.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Williams’ nephews.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Williams was born on October 16, 1963, the daughter of Franklin and Nellie Ruth Campbell Daniel.  She was Methodist by faith and worked as a teacher for Head Start.  Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her father.
