Obituary of Sandra Murphy Langley

Funeral services for Sandra Murphy Langley, age 73, of Irondale, AL will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim Robertson officiating.  Burial will follow at Midway Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to services on Sunday.

Mrs. Langley passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Compassus Hospice.

Survivors include: one brother, Roy Murphy (wife, Sandy) of Irondale; two nephews, Donovan Murphy of Birmingham and Patrick Murphy of Wedowee; and many cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Donovan Murphy, Patrick Murphy, Benny Cosper, Joe Burns, W.C. Pate, and Rayford Edmondson.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Langley was born on August 9, 1944, the daughter of Basil Murphy and Ethol M. Orlando.  She was the owner and operator of Little Professor Bookstore.  Mrs. Langley was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bryan Langley; brother, Jerry Murphy, and her beloved “Cookie” the bird.
