Obituary of Dorothy K. Baker

Funeral services for Dorothy K. Baker, age 91, of Pell City will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Ayers and Rev. Bobby Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-2:00 PM on Friday, February 9 before services begin.

Mrs. Baker passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at the Village Inn in Pell City.

Survivors include: one daughter, Rosa Estella Iliff of Carrollton, GA; one son, Ronald Wayne Baker (wife, Doris) of Pell City; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Nina Spuriell of LaGrange, GA, and Sue Kilgore of Griffin, GA.

A Brooks, Georgia native, Mrs. Baker was born on June 6, 1926, the daughter of W. R. and Rosa M. Jones Kelly.  She was a member of Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Church and worked as a seamstress at Calloway Mills.  Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmon Baker; one daughter, Shirley Baker; two sisters; and six brothers.
