Obituary of Maurice Bradley Lee

Funeral services for Maurice Bradley Lee, age 97, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 3:00 PM at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Corky Addison officiating.  Burial will follow at Wedowee City Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-3:00 PM on Saturday, March 17 before services begin.

Mrs. Lee passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Insignia HealthCare in Newnan, Georgia.

Survivors include: two daughters, Charlotte Lee Hudson (husband, Carl S.) of Leesburg, Ga, and Laura Gail Kennedy (husband, Jack) of Nashville, GA; one son, Stephen Lee (wife, Sherrill) of Newnan, GA; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Hilda Gittings of Wedowee.

Pallbearers will be David Teigue, Michael Chapman, Ronnie Mashburn, David Tyson, Carl Hudson, Robbie Hoey, Tommy Hoey, and Chase Teigue.

A Wedowee native, Mrs. Lee was born on April 21, 1920, the daughter of Henry Milford Bradley and Charlotte Stewart Kitchens.  She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she was a choir member and piano player.  Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elbert Ernest Lee; ten sisters; and one brother.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
