Obituary of Zachary Aaron Higgins

Funeral services for Zachary Aaron Higgins, age 24, of Roanoke will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Midway United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30-8:00 PM on Sunday, May 20, 2018.

Mr. Higgins went home to be with his Savior on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

Survivors include his mother, Kimberly Stallings of Roanoke; his father, Donald Walters, Jr., of Roanoke; paternal grandparent, Nyla Walters; maternal grandparents, Gerald Higgins and Ann Higgins; and one brother, Andy Walters of LaGrange.

Pallbearers will be Micah Costello, Christopher Durham, W. C. Pate, Josh McManus, Jamison Nelson, and Andy Walters.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Higgins was born in Anniston on November 10, 1993, the son of Donald Henry Walters, Jr., and Kimberly Higgins Stallings.  He was a member of Midway United Methodist Church, a member of Long Can Masonic Lodge #424, and worked as a salesman.  Mr. Higgins was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald H. Walters, Sr.; and one uncle, David Walters.
