Obituary of Lisa F. Mitchum

Funeral services for Lisa F. Mitchum, age 52, of Woodland will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mark Moore officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, June 2, 2018.

Mrs. Mitchum passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, Tanner-East Alabama Medical Center in Wedowee.

Survivors include her husband, James “Ed” Mitchum of Woodland; one daughter, Claire Mitchum (Fiance`, Wade Wood); two nieces, Brittany Waits (Justin), Nickie Lasseter (Shane); nephew, Luke Moon (Jennifer); great-niece, Harley Ruth Waits; great-nephews, Chandler Moon, Connor Moon, Jakab Moon, Max Lasseter, and Major Lasseter; one brother, Todd Freeman (Wanda); and one sister-in-law, Susie Moon (Keenan).

A Roanoke native, Mrs. Mitchum was born on February 10, 1966, the daughter of Sam and Ruth McClung Freeman.  She was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church and attended Gray Hill Church of God.  She worked as a seamstress for Lamar Manufacturing Co for six years and was also the lunchroom manager at Heard County High School.  Mrs. Mitchum was preceded in death by her parents.
