Funeral services for Harvis Moore Whaley, age 90, of Woodland will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Terry Graham, Bro. Tyler Worthy and Bro. Pete White officiating.  Burial will follow at Levens Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00-11:00 AM on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Benefield Funeral Home.

Mr. Whaley passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Nelson Whaley of Woodland; a son Kenneth (Darlene) Whaley; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, Velma Mitchum of Huntsville; two special nieces Vickie Sikes and Gina Mercer.

Pallbearers will Mike Whaley, Nelson McCain, Ricky McCain, Larry Raughton and Drew Mercer.

A Randolph county native, Mr. Whaley was born on May 8, 1928, the son of Rube A. and Willie Mae Oats Whaley. Mr. Whaley was Christian by faith and was a member of Levens Baptist Church. Mr. Whaley was retired from Randolph County Highway Department. Mr. Whaley was preceded in death by his parents; one son Chris Whaley; two sisters, Lucille Whaley and Inez Holloway; eight brothers: H.S. Whaley, Chink Whaley, Fred Whaley, J.T. Whaley, Swann Whaley, Lum Whaley, Gross Whaley, and Pete Whaley.
