Obituary of Catherine Nell May

Graveside services for Mrs. Catherine Nell May, age 88, of Roanoke will be held on Monday, July 29, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Wedowee City Cemetery with Bro. Ricky Daniel officiating.  Burial will follow with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. May passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Traylor’s Nursing and Rehab Center in Roanoke.

Survivors include: a nephew and his wife, Ronnie and Judy Yates of Wedowee, and several cousins and other extended family.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. May was born on July 3. 1931, the daughter of Hoyt James Yates Sr. and Jewell Moon Yates.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wedowee. She had retired from Playtex International and loved working in her yard with her beautiful flowers. She also loved doing arts and crafts. Mrs. May was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dexter May and her brother, Hoyt James Yates, Jr.
