Obituary of John Edward Deering

Memorial services for John Edward “Eddie” Deering, age 76, of Wedowee will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at 11:00 AM CST at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Little and Mr. Tommy Chapman officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM CST on Tuesday, December 17, 2019.

Mr. Deering passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019, at Noland Hospital in Anniston, AL.

Survivors include two daughters, Danna Deering Ely (Douglas) of Wedowee, AL and Martha Duckett (Gary) of Albertville, AL; one son, John Scott Deering of Smyrna, GA; two grandchildren, Johnathan Cole Deering and Ansley Elizabeth Deering; and two brothers, David Autrey of Albertville, AL and Steve Autrey (Kathy) of Locust Grove, GA.

A Tennessee native, Mr. Deering was born on April 10, 1043, the son of Louis Davis and Louise Hensley Autrey.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Wedowee and worked as a Manager for Georgia Power.  Mr. Deering was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Gail Wallace Deering.
