My sincere condolences to the Stephens' Family. Mrs. Stephens and I taught together for 10 years as Roanoke Middle 7th grade.
Mr. Stephens and I taught together at RCHS.
Mrs. Stephens was a highly intelligent person who shared many great stories of her life with me. She was asked several times to to give lectures on books and life experiences that pricked loving and sincere thought of self responsibility to all.
She, of course loved her boys, and shared their growth and physically and intellectually with great love and pride.
I am sadden by our loss!

James Wyckoff posted a condolence

I don't know exactly how "Little Della" and I are related, all I know is my mother said she was our cousin. I guess she was called Little Della because we had another cousin that was older so the youngest became "Little Della". My first encounter with Little Della was at Mt. Zoin Baptist Church in New Site Alabama when I was just a child in the 1950's, she was a Sunday School teacher. She always dressed neat like a teacher, spoke clearly and was friendly to everyone. My parents loved her. I am not surprised she went on to teach professionally. Please accept our condolences during this very difficult time.
