Obituary of Dewodia Jo Gay Driver
Graveside services for Dewodia Jo Gay Driver, 83, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Big Springs Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Steve Dempsey officiating and Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Driver passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Survivors include: one daughter, Kim Sledge (Phillip) of LaGrange, GA; three sons, Phillip Gay (Marie) of Woodland, Randy Gay of Roanoke, and Joey Gay (Carol) of Woodland; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Lillian White Rollins.
Pallbearers will be Lane Gay, Shane Gay, Justin Gay, Wesley Gay, Kody Gay, Adam Sledge, and Landon Sledge.
A Roanoke native, Mrs. Driver was born on May 1, 1937, the daughter of Joe and Lula Matthews Rollins. She was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church and worked for Playtex. Mrs. Driver was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Billy Gay; second husband, Jimmy Driver; two sisters; and three brothers.
