Obituary of Charlie David Benefield

Charlie David Benefield, age 64, of Wedowee passed away Monday, October 19, 2020, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Brown Benefield of Wedowee; two sons, Kyle Allen Sibley (Katie) of Denham Springs, LA, and Cole Allen Sibley of Tallapoosa, GA; five grandchildren; five sisters, Wanda Caldwell, Connie Cain, Angie Benefield, Cindy Joseph, and Becky Bickmell; and several nieces and nephews.

An East Point, Georgia native, Mr. Benefield was born on January 12, 1956, the son of Charlie Walker and Mary L. Williams Benefield.  He was Baptist by faith, was the retired owner of Benefield Tile, and worked as a contractor.  Mr. Benefield was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Russell Allen Sibley, Jr; and one sister, Charlene Phillips.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
