Obituary of Frances Benefield Kirby
Graveside services for Frances Benefield Kirby, age 87, of Roanoke will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Green’s Chapel United Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Burke and Bro. Matt Browning officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
Mrs. Kirby passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA.
Survivors include: one daughter, Stacy Kirby Daniel (James) of Roanoke; eight grandchildren, Scott Kirby, Reid Kirby, Sarah Kirby Wilson, Kyle Daniel, Kelly Daniel, Skyler Daniel Akins, Richard Kirby-Quarantello, and Kaylin E. Stephens; 13 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Irene McManus of Wedowee, Sara Kirby and Idell Wilder, both of Anniston.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Daniel, Scott Kirby, Reid Kirby, Len Kuykendall, B. G. Harvel, and Steven Edmondson.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Kirby was born on February 20, 1933, the daughter of Guy Felton Benefield, Sr., and Mattie Bell Owens Benefield. She was a member of Green’s Chapel United Methodist Church and worked as a manager for the Bypass Shopette. Mrs. Kirby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Calvin Kirby; a son, William Richard “Ricky” Kirby; two brothers, Guy F. Benefield, Jr., and Morgan Benefield; and sister, Mary Lou Browning.
