Brother John was always kind, caring, and lived out Colossians 3:23. He could see into people's hearts. We still miss you, and we will always remember you with brotherly love.

John was a good man who grew to be a friend of mine over several years as I worked with him occasionally as a volunteer at SIFAT. When I helped him usually in the garden or landscaping it was almost guaranteed to be hard, hot and dirty work. John was a dedicated and hard worker who was a wealth of knowledge on plants, trees, gardening and landscaping. We often worked together with few words between us but sometimes we would take a break in the shade by the creek and talk about sports, family and other news. I didn't get over to help him in 2020 because of the pandemic but had started back this year when he contacted me. I had been there twice and was looking forward to spending more time there helping some this year but the Lord had other plans. I will have many fond memories of John and our time together at SIFAT. I was blessed to know him and he will be sorely missed by me.

Never has there been a more gentle and caring man. Everything that John did he did well. He was very quiet and reserved, but he was always there with a helping hand, a shoulder to lean on and a listening ear. The world was a better place with John in it. I loved him.
