Obituary of William O'Neal Burks

Graveside services for William O’Neal Burks, age 61, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Iduma Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Jonathan Hannah officiating and Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM on Saturday, June 19, 2021. 

Mr. Burks passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at his residence.

Survivors include his mother, Pauline New Logan; sisters, Vera Childers of Leeds, AL, and Valerie Mason (Jerry) of Heflin, AL; and one brother, Charles Burks (Karla) of Weaver, AL. 

Pallbearers will be members of the church. 

A Columbus, Ohio, native, Mr. Burks was born on October 4, 1959, the son of Luther Charles Burks, Jr. and Pauline New Logan.  He was an R.N. and a computer consultant. Mr. Burks was preceded in death by his father.
