Obituary of Denny Wayne Treadwell

Funeral services for Denny Wayne Treadwell, age 70, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 12:00 noon at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Little officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Stand Congregation Christian Church with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM – 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 19, 2021. 

Mr. Treadwell passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Mitchell Treadwell; daughter, Dawn Treadwell Jarvis (Matt) of Winder, GA; son, Chad Treadwell (Amy) of Frisco, TX; grandchildren, Olivia Treadwell, Ellinor Treadwell, Luke Jarvis and Ethan Jarvis; and brother, Bobby Treadwell (Christi) of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Matt Jarvis, Luke Jarvis, Ethan Jarvis, Kenneth Treadwell, David Treadwell and Kyle Treadwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Treadwell, Brad Treadwell, and Blake Treadwell. 

A native of Roanoke, AL, Mr. Treadwell was born on March 31, 1951, the son of E. T. “Billy” and Betty Jo Howse Treadwell.  He retired as a store manager for Kroger where he had worked for 42 years.  He served as a volunteer fire department member for Auslin Chapel and was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Duluth, GA. He also served as an elder at Pilgrimage Presbyterian Church in Lilburn, GA.  Mr. Treadwell was preceded in death by his parents.
