Obituary of Elois May Patterson

Funeral services for Elois May Patterson, age 88, of Newell will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at 1:00 PM CST at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Earl Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Green’s Chapel Cemetery in Heflin, Alabama.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:00 PM CST on Wednesday before services begin.

Ms. Patterson passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA.

Survivors include: sons, Earl Bryant (Sheila) of Lanett and Tony Bryant (Debbie) of Leeds; 11 grandchildren, Shane Bryant, Shanna Thompson (Johnathon), Shalin Peoples (Dion), Amanda Cook, Sandra Thomas, David Patterson, Dale Patterson, Dewaine Patterson, Donna Patterson, J. J. Patterson, and Audrey Patterson; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Ms. Patterson’s grandsons, grandsons-in-law, and great-grandsons.

A Heflin native, Ms. Patterson was born on August 4, 1933, the daughter of Thomas Howard and Audrey King Green.  She was a housewife.  Ms. Patterson was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mark Patterson; and several brothers and sisters.
