Obituary of James Loyd Grant

Funeral services for James Loyd Grant, age 94, of Wedowee will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Matt Browning officiating.  Burial will follow at Wedowee City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00 AM on Friday before services begin.

Mr. Grant passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Heritage of Brookstone in Kennesaw, GA.

Survivors include: One son, James Douglas Grant of Acworth, GA; four grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Wakefield of Wedowee.

A Wedowee native, Mr. Grant was born on March 5, 1927, the son of Columbus Loyd and Nancy Wilson Grant.  He was a member of Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Church and worked as a mechanic with Lockheed Martin of Georgia.  Mr. Grant was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue Huddleston Grant; one daughter; one sister; and three brothers.
