Obituary of Glenda Sue Hill

Funeral services for Glenda Sue Waites Hill, age 72, of Newell will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at 2:00 PM Harmony Congregational Methodist Church with Bro. Matt Browning officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30-8:00 PM on Friday, August 6, 2021.

Mrs. Hill passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Hill of Newell; three daughters, Rhonda Richardson (Shannon) of Newell, Liz Lovvorn (Tim) of Roopville, GA, and Kathy Morgan (Jonathan) of Newell; four grandchildren, Lindsey Lovvorn, Lauren Puckett, Andrew Richardson, and Luke Morgan; two great-grandchildren, Allie Puckett and Landon Puckett; three sisters, Donna Cosper of Newell, Sheila Clifton of Woodland, and Elaine Sewell of Anniston; and one brother, Jimmy Watkins of Whitesburg, GA.

Pallbearers will be Trey Puckett, Tim Clifton, Adam Clifton, Anthony Clifton, Malachi Hill, and Tyler Hill.

A Cleburne County native, Mrs. Hill was born on November 2, 1948, the daughter of Robert and Alice Simpson Waites.  She was a member of Harmony Congregational Methodist Church and was a retired caregiver for Cottage Landing Assisted Living. Mrs. Hill was a loving wife and mother and the best Nanny you could every ask for.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, they were the joy of her life.  Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Betty Clayton and Jill West; and two brothers, Buddy Dunn and Ray Dunn.
