 Floyd Christopher Allen, age 65, of Wedowee, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida with his family by his side. He was born in Anniston, Alabama on December 18, 1955, to Cloice Duke Allen and Shirley Humphrey Allen Brown. Chris grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana and graduated from Southwood High school, class of 1974. Following high school, Chris married the love of his life Glenda Jones Allen and they raised two wonderful children.   

 For many years, Chris worked at Atlas Processing, while also working as a reserve deputy for the Caddo Parish Sheriffs Department in Shreveport, Louisiana. In his later years, Chris worked as a Certified Pipeline Welding Inspector traveling across the country with his loving wife Glenda Allen and their two dogs Bella and Rudy.

 Chris had a great love for God, Family, Fishing, Hunting, Drag Racing, Cars and Music. He loved to custom build anything and was great at it. Chris loved and thoroughly enjoyed his three grandchildren. Coaching, Mentoring and attending any sporting event brought him such enjoyment. Anyone who has ever had a hug from Chris Allen will never forget his giant bear hugs and great big bear paws for hands. Chris Allen could fix anything, comfort the smallest of babies and animals and shake your hand gaining instant respect.  He found joy, peace and comfort sitting on his porch with his wife drinking coffee and dreaming about the wonderful plans they had for their home they built on Lake Wedowee in Alabama.

 Chris became a resident of Wedowee in 2019. He was an active member of Wedowee First United Methodist Church. More than anything, Chris was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many.

 Chris was preceded in death by his father Cloice Duke Allen. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Glenda Jones Allen, Daughter Aubrey Allen Cohorst and Husband Lance Cohorst and Granddaughter Ainsley Ross. Son, Adam Allen and Wife Layne McClellan Allen and Grandchildren Bryce and Avery Allen. Mother, Shirley Humphrey Allen Brown, Brother Lynn Allen, Sister Stacey Allen Durante, Aunts, Uncles, in-laws, several nieces and nephews and many cousins. He is deeply missed.
