Obituary of Warren C Sides, Jr.

Funeral services for Warren C. Sides, Jr., age 84, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Barfield Baptist Church with Rev. John Howell officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery and Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00-5:00 PM on Friday, November 26, 2021.  Mr. Sides will lie in state at the church from 10:30-11:00 on Saturday before services begin.

Mr. Sides passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021, at his residence.

Survivors include: one daughter, Stacey Rorie of Durham, NC; two sons, Warren Sides, III, (Bonnie) of Griffin, GA, and Tom Sides (Terese) of Huntersville, NC; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruby Kerby of Granada Hills, CA.

A Birmingham native, Mr. Sides was born on September 16, 1937, the son of Warren Sides, Sr., and Irene Graben Sides.  He was a member of Barfield Baptist Church and worked as an accountant for 40 years.  Mr. Sides was also a United States Navy veteran.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bonnie Burkhalter Sides; and two sisters, Tommy Sue Sides and Lena Steele.
