Obituary of Ricky Fred McCain

Funeral services for Ricky Fred McCain, age 67, of Woodland will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 3:30 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Glenn Ward and Bro. Steve Langley officiating.  In keeping with Ricky’s wishes, burial will follow at sunset at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday, October 31, 2022.

Mr. McCain passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Anita McCain of Woodland; two daughters, Kecia Burns (Joby) of Heflin and Alyce McCain of Woodland; two sons, Colton McCain (Noelle) and Kendle Bayliss, both of Woodland; six grandchildren, Karli Burns, J.T. Burns, Cole Burns, Lydia McCain, Annalyce McCain, and Brantley Bayliss; one sister, Jean Hooks (Sanford) of Opelika; and one brother, Jimmy McCain (Elaine) of Newell.

Pallbearers will be Brian, Shane, Landon, Tanner, Sawyer, and Cade Cross.  Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Bailey, Don Strain, David Rampy, Mike McCain, and Brian Laws.

A Wedowee native, Mr. McCain was born on January 24, 1955, the son of Fred and Nina Simpson McCain.  He was a member of Zion Baptist Church and was a retired maintenance technician for Kimberly-Clark.  Mr. McCain was also a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Wanda Williamson; and his stepmother, Virginia McCain.
