Funeral services for William Thomas "Tommy" Hartley, age 75, of Woodland will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at 1:30 PM at Bear Creek Methodist Church in Woodland, Alabama with Rev. Jacob Wilkerson, Bro. Ronnie Prince, and Bro. Jack Shelton officiating.  Burial will follow at Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Greg Norred and Rev. Jerry Wiggins officiating graveside services.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, November 5, 2022. Mr. Hartley will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Sunday.

Mr. Hartley passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at his residence.

Pallbearers will be Tim Shelton, Tommy Bradford, Tyler Bradford, Trey Bradford, Tate Bradford, Ryan Prince, Blair Parker, Wendell Shelton, Dusty Shelton, and Gilbert Iverson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cousins and classmates from Woodland High School’s class of 1967.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Lashley Hartley of Woodland; a brother, Dan C. Yates, Jr. of Atlanta; sister-in-law, Connie Lashley Nobbley of Woodland.

A Troup County, Georgia native, Mr. Hartley was born on January 5, 1947, the son of Thomas Frank Hartley and Flossie Gosdin Hartley Yates.  He was a member of Bear Creek Methodist Church and was a retired poultry farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dennis Russell Yates; a niece, April Dawn Nobbley; and his in-laws, Rex and Clois Lashley.

Memorials may be floral or the family requests donations be made to the Russell Bass Sunday School class at Bear Creek MC or to Liberty Grove CMC cemetery fund.
