Obituary of Sarah Ann Wright Petty

Graveside services for Sarah Ann Wright Petty, age 78, of Wedowee will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Corinth North Cemetery with Rev. Steve Dempsey officiating and Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM on Sunday before services begin.

Ms. Petty passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia.

Survivors include: one daughter, Penny Berryhill (Rodney) of Wedowee; one son, Paul Loveless (Stacey) of Roanoke; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Walker, Maison Walker, Jamieson Walker, Eloy Rios, Eli Mize, Rodney Berryhill, Erick Trejo, and Jacob Daniel.  Honorary pallbearers will be David Dejesus, Daniel Dejesus, Cheese, Trae Taylor, Robert Justice, and Braydon Jenkins.

A Wedowee native, Ms. Petty was born on April 22, 1944, the daughter of Comer and Clyde Foster Wright.  She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and was a homemaker.  Ms. Petty was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sandra; and two brothers, Tony and Donald.
