Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Reatha?
A: I will never forget Aunt Reatha's loving warm hugs. My Uncle Edward Daniel was married to Aunt Reatha for many many years and Grandma Daniel was very old and in the hospital on her death bed and the family was called in. It was later into the night and back then children were not suposed to be at hospital, but this situation was a exception being there was gonna be a death. All the kids had fallen asleep in the lobby but me. Aunt Reatha came picked me up into her sweet loving arms and snuggle me as she rocked me to sleep in the only rocker chair in the lobby. I will never forget how good her comforting loving embrace felt as she rocked me to sleep. I was not ever a rocked baby, and Aunt Reatha did not have children but she sure had the most loving and comforting arms. Whether she needed the hugs for her own comfort at that stressful time or she knew I needed her loving arms, but it was a memory I have remembered in all of my years. Just something so special and dear about Aunt Reatha's love that was unforgettable. She was an amazing woman. I got to spend some amazing time with Aunt Reatha through out my life. She taught me so much. Not only did she teach me of how a loving heart should be but all other kinds of life skills. She was an amazing seamstress, to which she sewed me a blanket one Christmas that I will continue to cherished. She taught me how to catfish and how to clean and fry up those yummy catfish. How to make homemade onion rings, and hush puppies. I loved her buttermilk fried chicken, and that amazing Friendship Cake she used to make. She made a painting with colors of crushed glass she crushed herself.
She was the Best Aunt and so talented. Her best talent of all was her talent of making you feel loved. I don't think there was ever a time we visited that she did not fix us a hand dipped ice cream cone to take with us as we left her house. Aunt Reatha was a fine beautiful soul that was loved dearly and will always be remembered for the amazing woman she was.

This was a fun memory with Aunt Reatha when we were all at Nan's for a family gathering. Her great nephew, Victor Turner, had recently purchased this red Jeep and of course, they couldn't resist giving it a test drive. I always remember my Great Aunt Reatha as a loving woman who was kind, calm, and a lot of fun to be around. We will miss her greatly ~
