Obituary of Dorothy May Dewberry

Funeral services for Dorothy May Dewberry, age 77, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Donald Spradlin and Bro. Anthony Herren officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Grove Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30-8:00 PM on Friday, March 3. Mrs. Dewberry will lie instate for one hour prior to services on Saturday.

Mrs. Dewberry passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 in Roanoke, AL.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Herren (Anthony) of Woodland, Ala.; sons, Scott McCain and James McCain, both of Woodland, Ala.; five grandchildren, Chris McCain, Allen Herren, Allison Herren, Brooklyn McCain, and Alana McCain; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Viola Mitchell; and brothers, JC Holloway and Jimmy Holloway.

Pallbearers will be Danny Mitchell, Ronnie Mitchell, Ken Spradlin, Bobby Bolt, Allen Herren, and Chris McCain.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Dewberry was born on May 5, 1945, the daughter of Matthew and Lola Daniel Holloway. She was a homemaker, worked as a seamstress and supervisor at Fashion Star, and was co-owner of D&D Metal Roofing and Vinyl Siding. Mrs. Dewberry was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frankie Dewberry; brothers, Calvin Ray Holloway, Rayford Holloway, and Teamon Holloway; sisters, Iola Adamson and Alice Adamson.
