Obituary of Jimmy Roundtree

Funeral services for Jimmy C. Roundtree, age 81, of Wedowee will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Union Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM on Monday before services begin.

Mr. Roundtree passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at UAB hospital in Birmingham, AL.

Survivors include: daughter, Anetra Garcia (Rene) of Roanoke, AL.; sons, Marvin Roundtree of Wedowee, AL. and Jerry Roundtree (Irene) of LaFayette, AL.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Roundtree’s family and friends.

A Wedowee native, Mr. Roundtree was born on March 27, 1941, the son of John Luther Roundtree and Annie Tolbert Roundtree.  He was a member of Union Chapel Methodist Church and was a heavy equipment operator at Mosey Construction.  Mr. Roundtree was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Willidean Roundtree; daughter, Brenda F. Roundtree; two sisters, Mattie Holloway and Lona M. Nuan; and two brothers, Silver Roundtree and Henry Roundtree.
