Ms. Prince was my teacher while I was at DeArmanville. She was a great math teacher, and ushered many a student into the wonderful world of Algebra. Ms. Kathy also lived down the road from my grandparents, the Laneys, with her sweet Momma. Through the years she showed my family many acts of kindness. She has mowed their grass, stopped to check in on them, and in later years would stop to ask if they needed anything from the store. We still talked a few times a year, mostly to catch up, or when we lost a Deville Hawk. She was a good person, and she will be missed.

There are no more formative years in a kid's life than those experienced in middle school/Jr high.
I'll never forget the bond I formed with Kathy and how she helped me become a respectful young man. She was young and full of energy back then (mid-19 eighties). I won't forget the pick up basketball games in the gym, where she'd absolutely not hold back. She was competitive that way.
I will also never forget the lesson she taught me about owning a mistake. She (wrongfully) disciplined me for something I didn't do. The truth became known to her shortly after the discipline event, at which point she called me back out into the hall. She apologized and, well, let's just say she got a dose of her own medicine.
Ms. Prince and Mr. Burdette will forever be two of the most important people to ever cross my path. Now, they are walking the streets of gold, together as Hawks, forever.

My condolences to all Kathy's family. Kathy was a very special person. I remember her mostly from high school. She was always nice to me and had a sweet smile! I enjoyed watching her play basketball for Woodland.
Hugs and prayers to her sweet family!!
